Job Description

Zuckerman Investment Group is looking for an Associate to join our team. This position is a unique opportunity to participate in the expansion of an established firm and will offer great growth potential. This position has the potential to develop into one of several different career paths, including client service, client operations, investment operations, and business development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop an understanding of the interplay between relationship management, investments & sales
  • Support client advisors in the execution of core client processes
  • Complete day-to-day client requests, including money movements, new account setup, preparing for client meetings and other projects as needed
  • Learn the inner workings of our key technological systems
  • Maintain essential relationship management, sales and investment data in our client relationship management system (CRM)
  • Coordinate with custodians on items such as client money movements, account openings, post-trade processing, voluntary corporate actions, and tax mailings
  • Participate in the reconciliation, allocations & settlements processes
  • Assist in various projects to support the investment and portfolio management teams

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree 
  • Preferred Majors: Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Development, Marketing
  • Minimum GPA: 3.6

Job Description

Zuckerman Investment Group is looking for a Finance Manager to join our team. This position is unique opportunity to participate in the growth of an established wealth management firm and offers great growth potential. This position is located in Chicago, Illinois with a hybrid home/office work arrangement.  

This position will be hybrid. 

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and execute the firm’s financial reporting William Hill online betting appfunction. Responsibilities include maintaining the firm’s books and records, financial reporting packages, cash flow forecasting, annual business filings, budgeting, tax returns coordination with various corporate entities and other projects.   
  • Execute the client billing process, which includes management fee calculations, reviewing client invoices, collecting receivables and reconciling billings and cash collections.  
  • Manage the firm’s private investment funds, including maintaining books and records, valuations, investor reporting, tax and audit.
  • Oversee, execute and verify the firm’s investor reporting process
  • Manage relationships with key firm vendors, including CPA firms for tax return preparation and private fund audits and insurance brokers. Oversee contracts and coordinate payments.      
  • Other finance related projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance 
  • 3+ years of experience in a large accounting firm

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Assist with due diligence on existing and prospective equity holdings, including investigative field research, reading transcripts and financial documents, data collection and analysis and financial modeling

  • Support the portfolio management process and decision making, including data collection, reporting, analysis, individual account management, position sizing and ad hoc special projects 
  • Liaison between investment team and trading and operations team including generating reports 
  • Build productive working relationships, both internally with senior leadership, portfolio managers and advisors and externally with brokers, dealers and custodians  

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • 3+ years of work experience
